Viruses normally cannot live on surfaces for very long. They need host cells to survive. Viruses can sometimes live up to seven days in an indoor environment.

Generally, viruses can live longer on non-porous (water-resistant) surfaces, such as stainless steel and plastics, than porous surfaces, such as fabrics and tissues.

Coronavirus is a new type, and we do not know much about it as well as its survival in various habitations. However, there is a possibility of transmission if the contacted packaged product carrying coronavirus.

Remember it is not just eBay or Amazon, you need to be worried about.

China feeds most of the high street shops, from your $/£ shops to Walmart and Tesco. So, you need to be more careful about your hygiene and make sure to wash hands frequently.

Report anything to your doctor if you are doubtful.

If coronavirus can spread through retail or other products, then we may see some more results in the coming weeks and months as it will start resurfacing around the world once the infected products reach our shores.

I think it was a good decision from China to lock down most of the affected sites. Otherwise, we could see mayhem.

This is getting worse now. It keeps spreading, and so far, most of the reported cases are believed through human to human transmission. So far, nothing suggested that it has been transmitted through shipments from China.

I am afraid to say that there is a possibility to have it transmitted through such products which are coming straight from the affected areas. I do not know what precautions have been taken at the border checkpoints and ports.

The Wuhan coronavirus is usually relatively mild. It can take longer for symptoms to develop. Symptoms may include:

      • A mild cough.
      • Shortness of breath.
      • A runny nose.
      • A sore throat.
      • A headache.
      • A fever

This makes it difficult to track and cure on time. Patients can easily confuse it with normal flue and under the weather conditions.
