How to find an image source?

  • 2

I have downloaded some images from a royalty-free website. I suspect that these images may be copyrighted. Is there any way to find out who really owns them and are they really royalty-free?

It is really easy to find out about the images. It is called a reverse image. You can use Google for this purpose. Below are the steps:

Go to http://www.images.google.com and click the camera icon. Then click “upload an image”. Then select “choose file”. Then simply go the locations on your computer where the image file is saved and select the image you want to verify and click “upload”.

Google will then show up a list of results. You can then scroll through the search results to find the original image. You can then decide whether the image is royalty-free or linked to a paid stock website.

You can even verify the status of the image by using the using URL. To do that you need to paste the image URL by selecting the option “paste image url” at http://www.images.google.com after clicking the photo icon.

You can also try the following website to see the image sources and confirm whether it is royalty-free.
