      Security of cloud storage

Data around the world is shifting to cloud storage, though physical server rooms still exist in big organisations. Cloud storage providers are working to improve security by adding more real-time IDS (intrusion detection system), and IPS (intrusion prevention systems) systems. But with the increasing amount of data, any misconfiguration can risk data security. The service providers will increase work on enhancing cloud storage security.

      Mobile phones and smart devices

Mobile phones and smart devices are essential for our everyday life. However, they can pose the biggest threat as they can be an entry point to the network and can be a compromising point for companies (BYOD).

Most cybersecurity companies are working on developing a secure infrastructure for mobile phones and smart devices, such as providing internet through a secure web application which also has a real-time threat detection system. Some of the mobile manufacturing companies would also make mobile phones more secure through blockchain.

      Phishing

Phishing attacks always remain the problem for security specialists, as the attackers represent themselves as a trusted entity. In most cases, they successfully deceive the victims by getting confidential information, such as login and password, credit card number, and email address with password. It usually dodges users to enter confidential information in a website which is the exact replica of the original one.

Ransomware, social media hacking through apps and sophisticated obfuscation methods will continue to do the damage in 2020.

There would be more developments and investment from security companies to address these problems.
